Jisp

Multidiscipline in-house design role

JispHeaderImage.jpg

After graduating in 2022, I joined Jisp as a junior designer and was promoted to mid-weight in 2023. I've embraced a multidisciplinary role, initially focused on graphic design.

Now, I have expanded my skills to include web development and animation to meet the evolving needs of the business.

Jisp provides digital solutions to local convenience retailers. Whilst at Jisp I've collaborated directly with some of the largest brands in the industry, including Pladis, Mondelez, and Lucozade, and have assisted the business in achieving over £2 million in discounts to more than 250,000 active shoppers.

Animation

A key aspect of my role is creating animated video content for stakeholders, including brands, shoppers, and retailers. I collaborate closely with Jisp's videographer, scriptwriter, and marketing team to design, structure, and storyboard the content to shape the narrative. As the designer, I ensure the delivery of effective and visually compelling solutions.

Digital screens

Additionally, I compose digital screen advertising aimed at shoppers in stores where messaging is both impactful and effective within a limited time frame. Due to the technical limitations of these screens, I often have only a brief window to convey messages to potential shoppers, presenting a unique design challenge.

Social media advertising

As lead designer, I was responsible for creating animations for Active Iron's social media channels to promote and explain a new digital campaign. 'Active Iron' ran a competition through Jisp's 'Scan & Win' digital solution, where shoppers could scan a product barcode for a chance to win a luxury spa experience.

Case studies

Validating and demonstrating Jisp's impact is crucial to the business. I achieve this by providing case studies to our premium brand partners, retailers, and fascia groups such as Nisa, Premier, and Booker. My role as a designer is to transform data into visually engaging and easily digestible content, ensuring it effectively communicates our value to stakeholders.

Web design

As the designer, I enhance the user experience on our app and website for B2C and B2B audiences. I translate senior management's conceptual ideas into practical solutions by conducting research, prototyping in Figma, and collaborating with developers to implement changes in the app and build new web pages using Webflow.

I was responsible for building a new webpage for our latest product, 'Scan & Win.' This webpage was designed to introduce our audience to the product's capabilities and showcase case studies to attract potential clients, effectively communicating the value and possibilities of 'Scan & Win.'

Leading the development of our digital screens for the App Store, targeting a B2C audience at a crucial decision point before downloading our app. It was essential to create a design that conveyed simplicity, clarity, and trust, ensuring potential users felt confident in their choice to download.

I collaborated with our studio team to develop the webpage for the ‘Confex Savings Club Powered by Jisp,’ an industry-first initiative providing direct discounts to retailers within the wholesale environment.

Social media

Social media continues to be an effective means of engaging with B2C audiences. I support our marketing team by creating and supplying assets and content across platforms including Instagram, Linkedin, TikTok and Facebook.

Jisp's 'High-5' project aimed to highlight our key USPs to a B2C audience: Save, Earn, Win, Share, and Support—all within the Jisp app.  I created illustrated hands and used distinct colours to represent each key point.

Successfully, I directed the visual design for campaigns, including the King's Coronation, and collaborations with major brands such as Cadbury and McVities. Digital competitions through our ‘Scan & Win’ product, consistently generate high audience engagement which is a critical business KPI.

POS design

As a member of the studio team, I actively participated in a complete point-of-sale overhaul in the spring of 2023, aiming to enhance clarity in the congested retail space. Despite the growth of digital communication, traditional POS materials remain essential for engaging shoppers in the retail environment.

Project wrap-up

I have evolved into a multidisciplinary designer at Jisp, honing my skill set in the Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Insider, Webflow, alongside more traditional printing methods. I refined my collaboration skills by working closely with colleagues across the organisation, tailoring my design approach to effectively engage diverse audiences, including consumers, retailers, and brands.
